Curriculum Framework

How the online Framework is organised

The Framework is organised into two parts - the interactive diagram and background information to the Framework which is listed under the diagram. The background includes an overview of ESOL in Scotland under Provision, the context of ESOL in Scotland relating it to government policy and an explanation of the diagram and the reasons for having the components within the diagram. There is also some background information to the development of the Framework which is covered in the Introduction.

The interactive diagram shows how the Framework can exist in practice. From the interactive diagram, you can click on the centre circle - the ESOL learner, the second circle (in pink) - work, family, communities, learning and the fourth circle (in yellow) - personal growth, citizenship, lifelong learning, employability. Each of these clickable parts will take you to sections related to these areas. There is also the option to go directly to a section through the Index.
